Give me a brake.

nickihebert:

Last night on my way home from Vera’s birthday party, my brakes went completely out on my car.  I couldn’t stop and the petal was all the way to the floor.  Obviously, I start freaking out because Mason was in the car, and I seriously thought I was going to have to run into something to stop. So, I make a call to my dad asking what I needed to do, all the while thinking that this was the last call of my life.  After I was over being dramatic, I realized that I was in a place with barely any cars and was able to pull over and eventually stop without hitting anyone/thing.

List of things to do today….

  1. Pray that it was something minor because I would really like to make it through the rest of the year before buying a new car.
  2. Queue that post for a year from now so that everyone freaks out if I were to die. It’s like a time capsule.
  3. Bury a time capsule (live blogging thoughts as they happen)

I almost saw you on the last day of your life!! BTW - Brake  failure is my biggest nightmare and it sounds like you handled it with more grace than I would have. This is assuming you didn’t scream “OMG WE’RE GONNA DIE 100% FOR SURE!!”
